The Quilted Conscience is a culture-exchange / arts-in-education program, including children’s fabric art workshops and a documentary film. Public school ELL (English Language Learning) departments work with local quilters to teach basic sewing and fabric art skills to student-artists (whose families are newly arrived from all over the world) to create and display story-quilts of their Dreams & Memories.

The Quilted Conscience is an illustration of the power of creativity and storytelling to bridge cultures and generations — and to remind us of all we share that is at the core of being human.”
— John Jeanetta, President & CEO, Heartland Family Services, Omaha, NE
